mccourt  > Trucks > The Syclone: Saudi #2792
Here it is, 1991 GMC Syclone # 2792 out of 2995. I bought this truck from the original owner, Chuck K., on February 2nd, 2008. The pics below are from that day, shot in a large pole barn where the truck had sat since fall of 1998. At the time, the truck had 1,296 miles, making it one of the lower mileage syclones around . This particular truck was one of the 31 returned from Saudi Arabia in 1994 and sold in a lottery to GM employees. Rated (conservatively) at 280hp, the syclone will go 0-60 in about 4.6, and do the 1/4 mile in low 13s.

mccourt > Original wheels and tires. They still have full tread. These tires are offset. A second set of rims and tires, which Chuck purchased from PAS came with the truck, and do not have an offset.
mccourt > The deflector protector sure isn't the most attractive accessory to come out of the 90s. These are a couple small cracks in the grille, and tiny scuff on the cladding from the trip over, or back from Saudi Arabia. They are not overly noticeable. Chuck also included a new replacement grille that is unpainted.
mccourt > Yes, the bra must go. Notice the crack in the grille at the far left, and top above the GMC logo?
mccourt > The Saudi Syclones have completely untinted glass. This is a law in Saudi Arabia, and is because of their culture. Also, there is an audible beep that sounds when you accelerate beyond 75 mph. The cladding looks dark and unfaded (should look pretty good for not seeing sunlight for 10 years).
mccourt > The Syclone decals are also dark and free from fading or ware. I looked in the back and the bed has virtually no scratches. The bed was only rated for a 500 lb capacity... but who would want to put anything in the back? The tonneau cover is in perfect condition.
mccourt > The tries look excellent. There are some scrathes, but they are underneath the clear-coat. Apparently this is the case for most of the Syclone/Typhoon wheels. The tires show almost no signs of ever being driven, which is pretty much true at 1,269 miles.
mccourt > The engine compartment is very clean, aside froma little bit of dust, and supposedly a little bit of sand under the battery compartment.
mccourt > The engine cover. "Syclone 4.3 TURBO' it's a nice touch.
mccourt > The original battery. Yes, it actually still was working . It seemed to have plent of juice, and probably would have cranked the engine over, but we decided not to risk starting the truck until after changing the oil and replacing the fuel. Had plenty of power to run the headlights and radio. The radio actually seeks in .5 increments, another Saudi oddity.
